## Description

Janes Country Intelligence department is seeking a Senior Analyst to conduct open-source research on the political, military, economic, social, information, and infrastructure (PMESII) risk environments in China and the Northeast Asia.

The analyst will also undertake quality assurance of data and analysis across countries.

Key responsibilities:

- Conduct open-source research on PMESII risk environments in China and Northeast Asia

- Update Janes foundational intelligence products (PMESII, Country Stability Indicators, and CBRN reports)

- Engage in current intelligence research on high-priority areas (political transitions, military coup risks)

- Collaborate with Janes Events team and Janes Military Intelligence team

- Deliver online and in-person customer briefings and support consultancy projects

Requirements:

- Established subject matter expert with research, writing, and peer-reviewing experience on national security issues

- Comprehensive understanding of dynamics across China and Northeast Asia

- Strong OSINT capabilities and in-depth knowledge of search, visualisation, and analysis tools

- Experience with interpreting and evaluating data to generate in-depth data-driven insight

- Proven track record of writing and editing analysis on national security-related topics

- Mandarin language skills are mandatory

- Postgraduate education in a relevant discipline (desirable)
