## Description

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer - Grafana DataViz to join their team.

The Grafana Frontend group is responsible for the end-to-end user experience on Grafana, the observability product and Grafana, the platform used by many engineers to build plugins.

The successful candidate will lead multi-quarter technical initiatives, mentor and collaborate with other engineers, participate in on-call for the services they help build, provide technical support in customer escalations, and represent the team's work outside the team.

Responsibilities:

- Lead multi-quarter technical initiatives from problem framing through rollout

- Mentor and collaborate with other engineers

- Participate in on-call for the services you help build

- Provide technical support in customer escalations

- Cross-squad collaboration: Represent the team's work outside the team, write design proposals, run demos, and make the case for the roadmap in cross-team discussions

Requirements:

- Technical leadership experience

- Solid experience leading teams through projects, mentoring other engineers, and serving as a force-multiplier

- Experience being on-call, supporting software in production, ensuring reliability, and responding to incidents as needed

- Enjoy working on complex solutions, building production software systems

- User focus and pragmatism

- AI experience with a practical mindset

Nice to have:

- Open-source contribution or maintainership

- Active interest in observability (Metrics, Logs, and Traces)

- Experience with tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or other observability platforms

- Experience in a fully remote, globally distributed team

In Canada, the compensation range for this role is $186,368 - $223,642 CAD.
