## Description

Scale's Generative AI business unit is experiencing historic growth. As the Community Manager, you will spearhead initiatives connecting hundreds of thousands of expert contributors on the platform.

This strategic operational role requires the execution of an operator, program manager, and creative writer. You'll need an entrepreneurial mindset, operational rigor, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

The Generative AI unit partners with advanced research teams to improve their models with human data. You will ensure the global network of contributors stays engaged and informed to do their best work.

Responsibilities:

- Create strategies to increase participation and satisfaction, overseeing external platforms like Reddit and managing the internal Outlier Community

- Develop systems to efficiently channel questions, feedback, and disputes across platforms and social channels

- Lead with vision: Set direction for multi-team areas and inspire clarity and alignment

- Organize virtual events to foster connection and monitor community sentiment

- Leverage user feedback, insights, and quantitative metrics to drive improvement in product and operational strategies

- Enable the team: Instill ownership, drive cross-team collaboration, and remove structural blockers

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, support, communications, marketing, and legal

- Draft communications sent to contributors, maintaining consistent messaging

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, finance, or a related field

- Minimum five years of experience in communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, or project management

- Proven experience managing large-scale communities on platforms like Slack, Discord, or Discourse

- Exceptional communication skills, with flawless writing

- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze metrics and adapt strategies

- High ownership orientation with a willingness to execute operational tasks

- Passion for building positive community experiences

- Experience with SQL and/or Claude Code to derive insights from data

- Experience managing direct reports

Compensation and Benefits:

- Base salary: $134,400-$168,000 USD
