## Description

The Medical Scribe role at Oak Street Health supports primary care providers with clinical documentation, allowing them to focus on providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

- Documenting patient encounters, including observing patient visits, documenting patient encounters in a structured note, assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes, and preparing After Visit Summaries

- Clinical documentation improvement, including requesting and reviewing medical records, leveraging population health tools, and consulting with providers on clinical documentation opportunities

- Administrative support for providers and care teams, including placing orders and referrals, addressing tasks, and supporting the care team with additional responsibilities related to clinical documentation

Requirements:

- Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications

- Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering

- Advanced listening and communication skills

- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new technical workflows

- Ability to adapt to new workflows and quickly learn new concepts and skills

- Ability to type 70+ words per minute

- Excellent job attendance, including ability to work in-person in clinics

- Ability to commit to at least 1 year in role

- US work authorization
