## Description

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Financial Control Division (FCD) at UK Export Finance. You will lead on accounting, forecasting, and financial reporting for our insurance, financial guarantee, and direct lending products.

The FCD is a dynamic team that ensures effective financial control processes are in place. We coordinate departmental estimates, budgets, and forecasting processes, producing accurate and reliable financial information.

As a Financial Accountant, you will:

- Produce monthly accounts for our insurance, financial guarantee, and direct lending portfolio

- Prepare reconciliations, models, and journal entries for the ledger

- Provide month-end commentary for monthly management accounts

- Work closely with the Operations Division to ensure accurate reporting of deals

You will also support the production of our annual report and accounts, supply estimates, and testing of transactions.

To succeed, you will be a qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA) with experience in financial accounting and reporting. You will have strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

- Reviewing and analysing monthly and quarterly information and data

- Preparing reconciliations with upstream systems

- Preparing models to calculate journal entries for the ledger

- Providing accounting advice and working with colleagues across the department

## Person Specification

### Qualifications

- CCAB or CIMA qualified

### Knowledge

- Sound understanding of the monthly and annual financial reporting cycle

- Knowledge of IFRS, including accounting for financial instruments (IFRS 9)

### Skills/Ability

- High attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets

- Good familiarity with Microsoft Office products and highly proficient with Excel

- Ability to communicate confidently and successfully with stakeholders at all levels

- Ability to self-manage, problem-solve, and meet objectives in a demanding area with limited supervision

### Experience

- Post-qualification experience in financial accounting and reporting

- Experience of using a large-scale financial accounting package

- Experience in applying accounting standards to develop appropriate accounting treatments
