As a Senior Jewellery Expert, you'll support the team of experts and jewellery sellers in Belgium, contributing to the growth of Catawiki's Jewellery auctions. Your mission is to create attractive auctions by evaluating and arranging lots submitted by sellers.

Responsibilities:

- Evaluate and arrange lots submitted by sellers for auctions

- Review lot titles, descriptions, and pictures to provide users with an estimated and realistic value

- Maintain transparency and fairness in user transactions

- Work with the sales department to recruit and develop new sellers and diversify the selection of lots

- Collaborate with the marketing department to generate interest in auctions

Requirements:

- Gemmology Diploma from a recognised school

- 3-10 years' experience in the jewellery, diamonds, or precious stones trade

- Leadership and project management capabilities

- Good grasp of market prices and jewellery manufacturing processes

- Experience in appraising and assessing jewellery

- Strong analytical skills

- Extensive trade knowledge and network

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills

- Proficiency in computer tools like Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides

- Fluent English; French is a plus
