## Description

Starburst is seeking a hands-on Director of Corporate Accounting to lead its global accounting operations as it continues to scale.

The role will report directly to the CFO and own the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and drive improvements across accounting processes, systems, and operations.

Key responsibilities include:

- Corporate Accounting: owning monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, general ledger, consolidations, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting

- Financial Operations: overseeing accounts payable, payroll accounting, cash management, and related processes

- Technical Accounting and Compliance: ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable statutory requirements

- Internal Controls and Audit: strengthening internal controls, maintaining accounting policies and documentation, and leading external audit coordination

- Systems and Process Improvement: optimizing accounting systems, automating workflows, and improving close efficiency, data integrity, and scalability

- Leadership and Partnership: developing a high-performing global accounting team and partnering with the CFO, FP&A, and cross-functional leaders

- Scalability and Readiness: building processes, systems, and controls that support international growth and future public-company readiness

Requirements include:

- Significant progressive accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth technology or B2B SaaS company

- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, consolidations, and internal controls

- Proven experience leading global accounting operations and developing high-performing teams

- Demonstrated success improving accounting systems, automating workflows, and scaling financial processes

- Experience managing external audits, complex technical accounting matters, and control environments

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; CPA designation preferred

The role requires 25% in-person travel for purposes including new hire onboarding, team and department offsites, customer engagements, and other company events.
