## Description

LSEG is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Index Process Automation team within FTSE Russell Operations. You will play a key role in shaping and building the future of technology for FTSE Russell Operations, focusing on project work to enhance quality, grow coverage, improve service and operational resiliency, and increase automation.

As a Python developer with React front-end and Python backend experience, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining an AWS-hosted web application. You will collaborate with data modelers, analysts, and business users to ensure ongoing development with different product teams.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the demonstration of adherence to LSEG Data standard policies and procedures.

- Adapt quickly to new technologies, tools, and frameworks as needed for projects.

- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.

- Develop and maintain web applications using React and Python.

- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

- Optimize applications and code for speed and scalability.

- Fix and debug applications to improve performance.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to teams' best practices.

- Document data ownership and establish integrations with enterprise data repositories.

Skills & Experience:

- Proven experience as a Python developer with 3+ years in an enterprise environment.

- Solid understanding of OOP principles, experience using common libraries for data manipulation (pandas, NumPy, datetime, regex functions).

- 2+ years of front-end development with experience in React, JS, HTML, and CSS.

- 1+ year of experience in SQL Server writing basic queries and executing SP's.

- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).

- Experience in creating comprehensive documentation using systems like Confluence and bug tracking software like Jira.

- Proficient in using testing frameworks (unit test, pytest, Jest) to ensure code quality and maintainability.

- Desirable: Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.

Soft Skills:

- An enthusiastic advocate of high-quality solutions.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical partners.
