## Description

We are seeking a Dental Nurse to provide clinical and administrative support to dentists and oral/maxillofacial surgeons during surgical and dental procedures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Assisting dentists, oral surgeons and clinicians during dental and surgical procedures

- Preparing clinical rooms, surgical equipment and instruments before procedures

- Preparing patients for treatment and providing appropriate support and reassurance

- Assisting with dental extractions and oral surgery procedures, including procedures under local or general anaesthetic where required

- Acting as a scrub nurse during surgical procedures where appropriately trained and competent

- Maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control

- Cleaning, disinfecting and sterilising instruments and surgical equipment

- Ensuring clinical rooms are fully stocked and prepared for each list

- Recording and maintaining accurate patient and clinical documentation

- Following all relevant health and safety, safeguarding and infection-control policies

- Disposing of clinical and surgical waste safely and correctly

- Providing appropriate post-operative support to patients

- Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary dental and surgical team

- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times

The post is locum and will last for 6 months. Shifts may include single days or full weekend blocks, depending on service requirements. Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends is desirable.

The salary for this post is £275 per day.
