## Description

At Soho House Toronto, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to members and guests as a Server in our Food & Beverage team.

The Role… As a Server, you will understand, discuss, and educate members and guests about menu items, allergies, and ingredients, while presenting an approachable and elevated experience by following Soho House Service Standards.

Main Duties:

- Develop and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and management

- Positively influence members and guests' experiences by elevating the dining experience with food and drink pairing options and discussing specials to drive sales

- Maintain communication and advise Management and Executive Chef on any allergies or potential red flags encountered throughout the night

- Complete all checkout reports at the end of each shift and have it double-checked and signed by management

- Adhere to health and safety policies, Company policies, procedures, standards, and local, state, and federal law as applicable

- Accommodate special requests from guests or alternative solutions that better suit business needs

- Ensure food orders are finished being plated and coursed out correctly before serving to members/guests

- Assist runners and bussers when possible with expo and service bar tickets

- Clean and stock server alley and bar area, polish silverware, plates, and glassware as needed

- Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions when asked by members and/or guests

Required Skills/Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar capacity

- Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain calm through quickly and effectively problem-solving under pressure

- Hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service, and respectful towards colleagues and guests

- Demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School

- Work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed

- Ability to take direction, work in a team environment, and autonomously

- Smart Serve certified

- Tips certified and POS knowledge

Physical Requirements:

- Seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands

- Make periodical fast-paced movements to go from one part of the property to others

- Move, pull, carry, or lift at least 20 pounds

- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch, and climb

- Perform physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping

- Stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods
