The Advanced Driver Assistance Technology (ADAS) team develops state-of-the-art software and algorithms to deliver best-in-class features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, driver monitoring, and 360 camera systems. You will be a highly driven engineer responsible for the core development work for ADAS sensors, leading hardware and software core development and owning requirements for these systems that control ADAS features across all vehicle programs. ## Responsibilities - Lead core design work for ADAS components per the Global Product Development System process on various vehicle programs. - Provide cost-efficient and quality parts on time, maintaining ownership and governance of component-specific robustness quality documentation (DFMEA, DVP&R, SCCAF, etc.). - Lead the Sourcing Process, including investment, piece price, and tooling cost reviews, and prepare initial and final sourcing documents including ESOW, Engineering Specifications, System and Component Requirements. - Manage and execute software technical design reviews and releases for prototype, production, and service. - Lead and perform Failure Mode Avoidance and Functional Safety analyses to examine potential failure modes and design suitable prevention strategies. - Conduct Technical Design Reviews, interfacing with Ford application activities and supplier engineering (software, hardware, mechanical, etc.). - Lead in the creation and signoff of E/E information like WCCA, Device Transmittals, Specifications, and Electrical Schematics. - Support Vehicle Operations activities to determine appropriate assembly and testing processes. - Interface with other engineers, Vehicle Engineering, suppliers, and management to ensure compliance with required specifications and efficient critical decision-making. - Support program-related work such as Bill of Materials (BOM), integration and packaging, parts release, requirements compliance, Engineering Signoff, 2-pagers, AIMs, FMA, Subsystem/Supplier work plans, DVP&R, and Engineering Sign-off. - Analyze data, identify root causes of issues, and develop corrective actions to optimize processes and achieve desired outcomes. - Support prototype builds and vehicle launch, which may require travel. - Identify validation, durability, and functional testing required for a given program’s change scope. - Support ongoing warranty reduction and improvements. ## Qualifications - BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or strongly related equivalent. - Experience with packaging electronic modules and components in vehicles. - 3+ years of experience in Hardware Design of E/E components. - 7+ years of experience with Automotive Component or Subsystem Product Development tools and processes. - Strong understanding and application of engineering disciplines (engineering specifications, systems engineering, design validation, failure mode analysis, 8D, Six Sigma, etc.). - Expertise in analyzing and resolving complex issues. - Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, self-motivated, proactive, eager to take responsibility, and deliver results with minimal supervision. - Outstanding supplier relationship skills to coach and lead suppliers as required. - Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. - Ability to quickly learn the job and then be able to self-lead the D&R Application work on programs. - Ability to clearly and concisely communicate and interact with others, both orally and in writing. - Ability to travel. ## Benefits - Immediate medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage. - Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care, and more. - Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more. - Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases. - Tuition assistance. - Established and active employee resource groups. - Paid time off for individual and team community service. - A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. - Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time. ## Skills ### Required - Electrical Engineering - Mechanical Engineering - Hardware Design - Automotive Component Development - Systems Engineering - Failure Mode Analysis - Project Management ### Nice to have - MSEE or advanced degree - E/E Layout - WCCA - ADAS sensing technologies - Electrical and Mechanical subsystems - Diagnostic tools and troubleshooting --- Source: [Apply at efds.fa.em5.oraclecloud.com](https://efds.fa.em5.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/CandidateExperience/en/sites/CX_1/job/66829?utm_source=yubhub.co&utm_medium=jobs_feed&utm_campaign=apply)
