## Description

Backcountry, a leading online retailer of outdoor products, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its Warehouse team as a Merchandise Processor at its Utah Fulfillment Center (UFC) located at 2607 S 3200 W, West Valley City, UT 84119. This is a seasonal, full-time position with a maximum employment period of six months.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing merchandise, packing orders, and loading packages into trailers. The role requires constant standing, frequent bending, and repetitive lifting, making it suitable for individuals who prefer hands-on work over sitting at a desk.

**Job Details:**

- Three shift options available: AM (Mon-Fri, 6:00a-2:30p, $16.00/hr), PM (Mon-Fri, 2:30p-11:00p, $17.85/hr), and Weekend (Sat-Mon, 8:00a-8:30p, $18.00/hr)

**Responsibilities:**

- Stand and walk for entire shift

- Read and audit labels

- Identify, count, and sort packages and inventory accurately

- Understand and differentiate between shipping methods

- Use automated packaging equipment

- Participate in team meetings and follow guidance

- Maintain a clean workspace

- Resolve inventory issues and adjust inventory as needed

- Perform other duties as assigned

**Requirements:**

- High school diploma or equivalency preferred

- Verbal and written comprehension of English language required

- Fundamental math skills required

- Ability to work independently without direct supervision

- Computer skills, including familiarity with internet and email

- Experience operating power industrial equipment (e.g., standing order picker or forklift)

**Physical Demands & Working Environment:**

- Physically active role requiring constant standing, frequent bending, and repetitive lifting

- Work in a fast-paced warehouse environment

**Overtime & Scheduling:**

- Overtime may be required to support operational demands

- Blackout dates and holiday information: warehouse closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day; typically works shorter hours on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve; blackout period for time off requests from November 23rd to December 4th
