## Description

Lyft is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Rider team, focusing on building a seamless rideshare experience. As an engineer at Lyft, you'll collaborate with teams like product, data science, analytics, and operations on code that empowers quick iteration while delighting passengers and drivers.

## Responsibilities:

- Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code

- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge

- Participate in on-call rotations, identifying, triaging, debugging, and resolving issues across applications and platforms

- Explain trade-offs made in decisions

- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to build complex features and products

- Analyze internal systems and processes to locate areas for improvement/automation

- Share knowledge through brown bags, tech talks, and promoting tech best practices

- Provide technical mentorship and feedback to junior engineers

- Help establish roadmap and architecture based on technology and needs

## Experience:

- BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent practical experience

- 5+ years of software engineering industry experience

- Solid knowledge of distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases

- Experience designing, debugging, and running fault-tolerant, highly available, large-scale distributed systems

- Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure)

- Experience working with Kubernetes and container technologies (e.g., Docker, cri-o)

- Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, and cross-functional team
