## Description

Diageo is seeking an Expense Accountant to join their Finance team.

As an Expense Accountant, you will be responsible for leading expense accounting processes in a high-volume, dynamic FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinating monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities

- Reviewing general ledger accounts, journal entries, accruals, provisions, and other accounting adjustments

- Ensuring transactions are recorded in compliance with local statutory requirements and company accounting policies

- Preparing and reviewing account and balance sheet reconciliations

- Identifying accounting issues and ensuring their timely resolution

- Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes

- Monitoring changes in accounting standards and local regulations

- Investigating accounting discrepancies and working with relevant teams to resolve them

- Identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, and enhance accounting processes

- Contributing to finance transformation, ERP, and automation initiatives

The ideal candidate will have:

- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field

- 5-8 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or similar finance roles

- Experience in FMCG, consumer goods, manufacturing, or other high-volume transaction environments is preferred

- Strong knowledge of Turkish statutory accounting practices

- Hands-on experience in general accounting and monthly and year-end close processes

- Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions

- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, SMMM, or equivalent are an advantage
