## Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager, Revenue Accounting to join our Finance and Accounting team at Target. As an Accounting Manager, Revenue Accounting, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for Target's loyalty program, strategic external partnerships, and other retail revenue streams.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Overseeing core accounting and controllership activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, financial reporting, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis

- Evaluating partnership agreements and evolving business arrangements to determine appropriate revenue recognition and accounting treatment

- Ensuring effective accounting processes and controls are in place to support compliance with accounting standards and internal control requirements

- Working with cross-functional partners to understand business operations and translate new initiatives and partnership arrangements into appropriate accounting and financial reporting outcomes

- Providing accounting guidance to support Target's evolving loyalty program and broader business objectives

- Driving continuous improvement across accounting processes, controls, and reporting through automation, standardization, and enhanced use of technology and analytics

Requirements:

- B.A./B.S. degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance

- 3-6 years of accounting, finance, or relevant business experience

- CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred

- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition and expense accounting concepts

- Experience evaluating and operationalizing accounting guidance for complex or evolving business models

- Demonstrated experience operating within a strong internal control environment, including SOX compliance and controllership responsibilities

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility across multiple levels and functions

- Strong digital acumen, including experience with ERP systems, data analysis, and process automation; SAP experience preferred

- Proven ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

This is a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs, requiring onsite presence at the Target HQ MN location on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

In terms of compensation and benefits, Target offers a pay range of $73,000.00 - $132,000.00, as well as comprehensive health benefits, 401(k), employee discount, short-term disability, long-term disability, paid sick leave, paid national holidays, and paid vacation.
