### Job Summary

As a Manager, Data Scientist at Capital One, you will lead the next wave of disruption in the financial industry using the latest computing and machine learning technologies. You will partner with senior business leaders to deliver products that create real value for clients.

### Team

The Commercial Business Analysis (CBA) team partners with senior business leaders across Capital One to deliver on the vision to become the top middle market bank. The Capital One Data Insights and Analytics (CODIA) team is dedicated to innovating with new sources of data to drive long-term value for clients and the bank.

### Responsibilities

- Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver products that create real value for clients.

- Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design to implementation.

- Conduct rigorous statistical analysis and back-testing against third-party data.

- Modernize data infrastructure by developing tailored analytical tools.

- Support long-term technical integrations for complex business projects.

### Requirements

- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field.

- At least 1 year of experience leveraging open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis.

- At least 1 year of experience working with machine learning.

- At least 1 year of experience utilizing relational databases.

### Preferred Qualifications

- PhD in a STEM field plus 3 years of experience in data analytics.

- Experience working with AWS.

- Experience with Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis.

- Experience with machine learning and embeddings.

- Experience with SQL.

### Salary

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are: McLean, VA: $197,300 - $225,100 New York, NY: $215,200 - $245,600
