## Description

We're seeking a diligent, detail-driven professional to provide vital expertise in support of our manufacturing automation activities. As part of our Manufacturing team, you'll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for.

In this position, you'll lead maintenance and engineering teams in scheduling, staffing, procurement, and maintenance of plant-wide Facilities Department equipment. You'll also be responsible for promoting a positive environment of culture, communication, and employee recognition.

Responsibilities:

- Lead maintenance and engineering teams in scheduling, staffing, procurement, and maintenance of plant-wide Facilities Department equipment

- Lead project writing and process of collecting and evaluating data in sound business cases

- Coach, counsel, and teach the team to handle and lead multi-million dollar projects

- Coordinate the resources and activities of the ME organization to meet the production schedule within budgetary limitations and time constraints

- Participate in maintenance scheduling, staffing, procurement, and maintenance of equipment, quality control, inventory control, and the coordination of activities with those of other departments

- Analyze the plant's personnel and capital resources to select the best ways of meeting the production quota

- Monitor the production run to make sure that it stays on schedule and correct any problems that may arise related to facility constraints

- Promote and ensure constant improvement in the ME organization toward the common goal of improving product quality, plant competitiveness, and total cost structure

- Facilitate start-up/shift meetings

- Experience with dock doors, wastewater treatment, civil work (ground piping, etc.), and fire systems

- Help develop targets and then deliver FPS metrics for each of the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, and Environment operating systems

- Promote and support FPS maintenance workteams/workgroups

- Champion constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate bottlenecks

- Establish the goal of maximizing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) with continuous improvement of Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) metrics to improve productivity

- Review/approve PM activities and ensure 100% PM completion

- Address department Health and Safety concerns and drive safety measures & coordinate improvement activities

- Responsible for environmental and safety compliance, reporting out PM status for the plant, and pulling reports in Maximo

- Staying up to date on all OSHA and governmental safety standards

- Lead contractors, high-risk work, and drives behaviour and discipline

- Owns and manages the budget with clear visibility

- Effectively leads in a UAW environment, able to set clear expectations, and hold the team accountable

- Deep understanding of plant electrical distribution (substations, switchgear, transformers, and feeders)

- Ability to capacity plan for future state (load capacity and infrastructure limits)

- Understanding of PM plans for electrical assets and predictive tools such as thermography, vibration, and condition-based monitoring to prevent failures

- Responsible for Arc Flash and safety compliance (understanding PPE requirements and procedures)

- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and safe Ford practices

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Construction Management

- Experience: Deep manufacturing engineering technical capabilities

- 5 years in maintenance and engineering

- 5+ years of experience managing and leading teams in a manufacturing environment

- Strong knowledge and ability to use Maximo and dashboards, and ability to leverage data for predictive maintenance and decisions

- Experience dealing with environmental waste, hazards, and government agencies

- Strong forward planning, shutdown, utilities, and risk mitigation

- Some experience in Production

- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

- Ability to communicate across all levels of business, including leadership and stakeholder management

- In-depth experience in assembly manufacturing processes

- Strong problem-solving skills, including working knowledge of Six Sigma

- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills

- Demonstrated ability to lead, empower, and develop employees

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills

- Experience with data acquisition systems – installation, troubleshooting, and repair

- Education: Master of Science in Engineering - Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or other

- Knowledge of Factory Information Systems (FIS)

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles

- Knowledge of constraint management principles

- Safety and Quality experience preferred

- Prior experience managing a unionized workforce

- Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
