## Description

We are seeking an Engineering Lead - VP to spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

**Purpose of the role** To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.

**Accountabilities**

- Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organisational objectives.

- Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritisation to ensure the successful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.

- Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimise team productivity.

- Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.

- Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.

- Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.

- Collaborate with other areas of work, for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.

**Requirements**

- Experience with Engineering Excellence & Automation-First Delivery Leadership, including leading teams in microservices architecture, performance engineering, code quality, secure coding, and engineering modernisation.

- Experience with DevOps, Secure-by-Design & Infrastructure Engineering, including embedding DevOps practices and driving secure coding.

- Experience with Scaled Agile Leadership & Team-of-Teams Engineering Management, including operating as an Agile change agent across multiple ARTs and cross-domain teams.

**Nice to Have**

- Experience with AI/ML-Driven Engineering & Agentic Developer Productivity, including promoting adoption of GitLab Duo and agentic development workflows.

- Experience with Architecture-as-Code, Documentation Automation & Engineering Governance, including embedding architectural assets within pipelines and data-quality checks.

- Experience with Strategic Stakeholder, Vendor & Cross-Platform Collaboration, including orchestrating engineering delivery with internal teams and external vendor teams.
