## Description

As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care.

Responsibilities:

- Providing patient care under the direction of a clinician, gathering information relevant to a patient's visit and condition.

- Communicating clearly with patients through telephone and in-person interactions.

- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide patient care, with attention to detail and follow-through.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Completion of a Medical Assistant program, or one year of Medical Assistant work experience, or a current active RN/LPN license in Utah.

- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

- Demonstrated basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.

- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers.

- Ability to protect patient confidentiality and Protected Health Information (PHI).

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in an outpatient clinic or healthcare setting.

- Computer literacy in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

- Current national Medical Assistant certification.

Physical Requirements:

- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs.

- Frequent interactions with patients, providers, and visitors that require verbal communication and hearing.

- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment with precision and accuracy.

- Ability to lift and transfer patients, bend to retrieve supplies, and carry equipment.

- Need to walk and assist with transporting patients and obtaining supplies.
