## Description

The Manager, Counsel role in Capital One's Legal Department will manage critical procurement contracts and provide advice to the Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) team.

The Counsel will be responsible for:

- Managing procurement transactions for various lines of business

- Identifying legal issues and risks in contracts

- Building relationships with ESM and legal stakeholders

- Managing repeatable processes for transactional work

- Coordinating outside counsel and managing costs

- Creating reports and providing training on key issues

The successful candidate will be a legal professional with:

- Proven ability to operate in a complex environment

- Strong organizational and analytical skills

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills

- Ability to work cooperatively with internal constituents

**Basic Qualifications:**

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

- Active member in good standing of at least one state bar

- At least 3 years of experience as an attorney

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- 4+ years of experience as an attorney

- 2+ years of experience in complex procurement transactions

- 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry

- Experience with Google Workspace

**Salary Information:**

- McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 per year

- Richmond, VA: $149,800 - $171,000 per year

- Chicago, IL: $149,800 - $171,000 per year
