## Description

Shield AI is seeking a Staff Engineer, Autonomy Software Integration to join its Hivemind Quality team. The team focuses on integrating, validating, and continuously improving the Hivemind ecosystem, which spans autonomy behaviors, sensor processing, multi-agent coordination, ground-control systems, and embedded platforms.

The successful candidate will become a systems integration expert for autonomous robotics, developing deep expertise in the AI-powered autonomy stack. They will learn to configure, deploy, and integrate multi-agent systems across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

- Integrating new capabilities into the autonomy stack

- Enabling platform bring-up and validation

- Configuring sensor drivers, communication interfaces, and platform adapters

- Developing integration tooling and infrastructure

- Supporting cross-platform compatibility

- Analyzing system behavior and root-cause issues

- Optimizing integration workflows and CI/CD

- Validating system requirements and interface contracts

The role requires:

- A minimum of 7 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in CS, Comp Eng, Robotics, or a related field

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++

- Experience with autonomous systems or server applications or middleware

- Demonstrated experience designing integration workflows and triaging integration defects

- Strong expertise with CI/CD pipelines

- Excellent communication skills

Preferred qualifications include:

- Experience building complex systems with a strong understanding of software architecture and design principles

- Expertise with Python

- Experience with ROS

- Familiarity with networking, operating-systems, and radio communications

The salary range for this position is $188,600 - $282,900 per year.
