As a Software Engineer - App Development, you will design, build, and lead the technical direction of end-user features used by millions of people worldwide. You will break down complex product requirements into clear technical designs and executable work, guiding teams from concept through delivery. You will act as a role model within the team, setting high standards for code quality, testing, reliability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

- Design, build, and lead the technical direction of end-user features used by millions of people worldwide.

- Break down complex product requirements into clear technical designs and executable work, guiding teams from concept through delivery.

- Act as role model within the team, setting high standards for code quality, testing, reliability, and operational excellence.

- Partner closely with product managers and designers to influence roadmap decisions, balancing customer value, technical health, and long-term sustainability.

- Listen to the customer and elevate their experience.

- Optimise and champion effective use of AI tools across the team to improve productivity, accelerate delivery, and focus effort on the most complex engineering challenges.

- Lead by example and bring curiosity, accountability, and positivity, helping foster a culture of ownership, learning, and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an analytical subject such as Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Software Engineering.

- 2+ years of professional software development experience, delivering high-quality, production-grade software in complex environments.

- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers, product partners, and stakeholders at varying levels.

- Strong commitment to quality, including test strategy definition, code reviews, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Full stack development experience in some or all of the following areas:

- Languages: TypeScript/JavaScript, Java

- UI Frameworks: React or Angular

- Back-end: Java (Spring), RESTful APIs, WebSockets, distributed systems, and API design

- Database: Postgres/AWS Aurora

- Experience scaling systems to handle growing traffic, data volume, and user load, including horizontal scaling, caching, and load balancing.

- Strong experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, including contract testing and test automation in CI/CD pipelines.

- Practical experience or strong interest in AI-assisted development, including hands-on use of LLM-based tools for design exploration, scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, debugging, and improving developer productivity.

- Deep familiarity with Git, DevOps practices, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

- Experience optimising applications across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Web platforms and ecosystems.
