## Description

We are offering a unique opportunity to join British Transport Police as a Drone Technician as part of our innovative Drone Development Programme.

As a Drone Technician with BTP, you will lead the installation, construction and maintenance of BTP's drone infrastructure across the rail network, ensuring systems are safe, compliant and operationally effective.

**Responsibilities:**

- Installing and commissioning drone infrastructure across the rail network, ensuring systems are safe, compliant and operationally effective.

- Maintaining and troubleshooting drone systems and supporting infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance and availability.

- Providing technical support to drone operations, including commissioning flights and supporting operational activity where required.

- Supporting testing, trials and rollout of new drone technologies and sites, contributing to the expansion of the Drone Development Programme.

**Requirements:**

- Relevant technical or vocational qualification, or equivalent experience in engineering, electrical systems, construction, drones or robotics systems.

- Experience of working to health and safety standards, conducting risk assessments and resolving technical faults using a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

- Strong technical problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently across multiple locations, and effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, contractors and partners.

- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths, and a full UK driving licence with minimal penalty points.

**Benefits:**

- Salary: £37,005.87 per annum, plus £4775.00 London Allowance

- Fixed Term Contract (23 months with potential to convert to permanent)

- Training and courses provided, including Fixed ladder climb and rescue, MC1 Mains compliance electrical safety, BTP driver training, GVC drone pilot and more

- Van and tools provided

**Working Pattern:**

- Tuesday to Friday, 10hr shifts (short shift on Friday to a total of 37hrs per week) with flexibility on start time to suit the task

- Shifts rotate between 07:00-23:00 on flying duties and generally 07:00 starts for technical build and maintenance work
