## Description

Leidos' Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist to join its team in Colorado Springs, CO. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming, setup, and operation of various machine tools, including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.

**Primary Responsibilities**

- Read engineering drawings

- Operate CNC lathes and provide backup operations on CNC mills and other manual equipment

- Set up and run machines on various operations involving multiple machines that convert raw materials to precision finished goods within print tolerance specifications

- Use fixtures or gauges to verify dimensional checks

- Experience in manufacturing large aerospace components from exotic materials is a plus, with 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience

- Work on different projects in a rapidly changing environment with little or no assistance

- Perform other duties as required and be available for overtime as necessary

**Basic Qualifications**

- High school diploma or GED

- 3-5 years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills and CNC Lathes

- Intermediate knowledge of shop math skills

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand basic work instructions for product fabrication

- General knowledge and skills with hand and power tools, including deburring tools and wrenches

- Proficiency with precision measuring and fixed gauge equipment, such as micrometers and calipers

- Ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted

- Ability to work overtime when required

- US citizenship and clearance requirements

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Experience in manufacturing complex aerospace components from exotic materials

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Basic PC skills for data entry and production time entries

The pay range for this position is $57,850.00 - $104,575.00.
