We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence.

**Purpose of the role** As a Lead Full Stack Engineer at Barclays, you will design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

**Accountabilities**

- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.

- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and devise solution strategies.

- Promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.

- Staying informed of industry technology trends and innovations.

- Adherence to secure coding practices.

- Implementation of effective unit testing practices.

- Contribution to strategy, driving requirements, and making recommendations for change.

- Leading the design and development of complex, enterprise-scale applications.

- Designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting software solutions.

**Agile Delivery**

- Participation in Agile delivery processes, including PI Planning, Sprint Planning, and backlog refinement.

- Collaboration with Product Owners and Scrum Masters.

**Engineering Excellence**

- Championing DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and Infrastructure as Code practices.

- Driving continuous improvement in software quality, security, and delivery efficiency.

**Stakeholder Management**

- Partnering with business and technology stakeholders.

- Communicating technical solutions and delivery risks effectively.

**Talent Development & Mentoring**

- Mentoring engineers and providing technical coaching.

- Promoting a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

**Essential Skills**

- Extensive experience in Full Stack Software Engineering within complex enterprise environments.

- Strong experience in back-end development using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.

- Experience with DevSecOps, PaaS Openshift / K8S, GitLab, JIRA, SonarQube, Prisma, and Wiz.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing, and software quality engineering.

**Preferred Skills**

- Experience within Corporate Banking, Payments technology environments.

- Experience with distributed systems, high-volume transaction processing, and real-time integration platforms.

- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
