## Description

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking an intern to support the Refugee Care Unit in Medan, Indonesia. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Associate (Refugee Care) and contribute to the implementation of refugee care activities.

Responsibilities and accountabilities include:

- Participating in the implementation of the Refugee Care unit programme, particularly in organizing events

- Providing support for day-to-day implementation of programme activities in coordination with the Refugee Care Unit

- Co-facilitating general/non-clinical counselling sessions under direction and supervision

- Contributing to comprehensive case management process, guided and supervised by the Refugee Care Team

- Maintaining documentation and record-keeping for training sessions, meetings, and other Refugee Care Unit initiatives

- Supporting data collection and maintenance related to mental health and psychosocial support

- Assisting in protection-related activities, including awareness sessions and protection cadre meetings

- Providing assistance in distribution and response management of Freshdesk tickets within the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism (CFM)

- Supporting AVRR and associated movement procedures

- Collaborating with the education team to support school visits, coordinate with Principals, and participate in parent meetings

The ideal candidate will have:

- Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme in Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Work, Education, or a related field

- Relevant professional or volunteer experience with civil society organizations or volunteer groups

- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management

- Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills

- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (oral and written)

This is an internship position with a contract type of 2-6 months, and the estimated start date is as soon as possible.

The IOM offers a small monthly stipend to help offset costs, and interns are covered against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan.

**Qualifications:**

- Education: Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum undergraduate school) in Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Work, Education, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or enrolled in a second university degree (graduate school/equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree within one year of graduation.

- Experience: Relevant professional or volunteer experience with civil society organizations, volunteer groups is an advantage.

- Skills:

- Excellence computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database, email exchange, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), SPSS);

- Flexible and open to learning new experiences

- Good interpersonal, networking, and communication skills

- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied culture and professional backgrounds.

- Ability to write clear and concise report.

- Languages: Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required (oral and written).
