## Description

The IT - SGA CYBER DEFENSE team at S&P Global is looking for a Cyber Defense Engineer to design and develop advanced detection logic for various security platforms.

**Responsibilities and Impact:**

- Design and develop detection logic for SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, cloud security tools, AI-powered security systems, and network monitoring platforms

- Map adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures using MITRE ATT&CK framework

- Continuously tune and optimize detection rules to minimize false positives

- Implement Detection-as-Code methodologies

- Validate and test security defenses through collaboration with red teams and automated breach simulation tools

- Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance S&P Global's security posture

**Requirements:**

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity with at least 2+ years focused on detection engineering, threat hunting, or security operations

- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash

- Strong experience with security technologies such as SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, and network security monitoring tools

- Demonstrated knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Advanced certifications in cybersecurity

- Experience implementing Detection-as-Code practices

- Hands-on experience with threat hunting methodologies, red team exercises, or penetration testing

- Knowledge of AI and machine learning applications in cybersecurity

**Compensation and Benefits:**

- Anticipated base salary range: $140,000 to $155,000

- Eligible for additional compensation such as annual incentive bonus plan
