## Description

We are looking for a YouTube Thumbnail Designer to join our WhatCulture team. As a leading brand in pop culture media, WhatCulture covers various fandoms through its YouTube channels, which have over 8 million subscribers.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Video and work across our portfolio of channels. The main responsibilities include:

- Designing and creating video packaging for YouTube and social media platforms

- Collaborating with teams to translate video topics and scripts into compelling thumbnails

- Pitching thumbnail concepts and video ideas

- Analysing data from YouTube Studio and studying A/B test results to understand what works for our audience

- Researching competitors and the wider YouTube landscape to discover trends and best practices

- Sourcing, editing, and enhancing images using professional editing tools

- Creating template and visual styles for the team to use

- Performing other graphic design tasks such as creating templates for social media posts and poster designs

The ideal candidate will have:

- A good portfolio and proven track record of producing high-quality, high-performing, and data-driven YouTube thumbnails

- Strong understanding of YouTube analytics and how to use it to improve future creative decisions

- Deep knowledge of audience psychology and behaviour

- Awareness of graphic design principles like visual hierarchy and colour

- Knowledge of Adobe CC
