ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly qualified 9th-11th Grade Math/Science Teacher at Cleveland Sports Academy in Cleveland, Ohio. The teacher will provide a superior education for all students, creating a positive classroom environment that prioritises student learning and social-emotional development.

Cleveland Sports Academy is a tuition-free public charter school combining athletic training and physical wellness with accredited academics. The school offers a packed day of academic, athletic, and social-emotional learning, with students focusing on core academic subjects alongside fitness and special interests.

Responsibilities include:

- Preparing and delivering lesson plans, modifying them as needed during the school year

- Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students

- Maintaining accurate records of students' progress and development

- Utilising research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction

- Managing student behaviour in the classroom

- Creating a positive classroom environment for students to learn in

- Implementing school-wide culture expectations and norms

- Communicating with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth

- Incorporating technology skills into daily classroom practice

- Participating in non-instructional activities and collaborating with colleagues

Requirements:

- Active Ohio teaching license in the relevant content area

- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field

- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to manage confidential information and supervise students in various settings

- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks

- Experience working in an urban environment
