## Description

We are seeking a Waste Operative to play an integral part in delivering effective recycling and waste services.

As a Waste Operative, you will ensure receptacles are emptied, recyclables are separated to secure best rebate value, and waste services complement rather than disrupt other business activities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Review and adhere to safe systems of work, policies, and procedures

- Adhere to a 'clean as you go' approach

- Wear PPE as directed and maintain in good condition

- Decant/empty waste receptacles as required

- Ensure waste streams are segregated properly

- Move waste receptacles to ensure provision in areas of need

- Coordinate provision of bins, skips, and collections by waste contractors

- Ensure adherence to work schedules

- Ensure waste management does not disrupt client operations

- Operate balers and compactors and other equipment

- Promptly report defects of equipment

- Complete check sheets as required

- Maintain excellent housekeeping of all waste areas

- Support communication and awareness activities as required

- Liaise with Site Waste Manager to deliver customer satisfaction

**Requirements:**

- Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and customer standards within own area

- Present a positive image to the customer

- Takes pride in and is committed to delivering a high-quality service

- Sets a good example by demonstrating a positive and energetic approach

- Is visible and approachable to all, encouraging co-workers to follow

- Maintains positivity in challenging times

- Increase awareness of dignity and inclusion

**Essential Criteria:**

- A full, clean driving licence

**Desired Qualifications:**

- Licensed forklift operative (counter balance)

**Desired Experience:**

- Experience as a waste recycling operative

- Has worked at a manufacturing facility

**Desired Skills:**

- Experience within the relevant industry, or a similar environment

- Time spent in a customer service environment

- Experience working within a results-orientated environment
