## Description

As a Manager, Data Scientist at Capital One, you will lead the next wave of disruption in the financial industry using the latest computing and machine learning technologies. You will be part of the Business Card & Payments Data Science team, building industry-leading machine learning models to power credit underwriting decisions.

Responsibilities:

- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver products customers love

- Leverage a broad stack of technologies, including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark, to analyze huge volumes of data

- Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design to implementation

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

The Ideal Candidate:

- Is customer-focused and passionate about doing the right thing

- Is technically skilled with open-source languages and cloud computing platforms

- Thrives on solving big, undefined problems and pushing to find answers

- Has experience with statistical modeling, clustering, classification, and deep learning

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science)

- 6+ years of experience performing data analytics

- 1+ year of experience leveraging open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis

- 1+ year of experience working with machine learning and relational databases

Preferred Qualifications:

- PhD in a STEM field

- Experience working with AWS, Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis

- 4+ years of experience with machine learning and SQL
