## Description

dbt Labs is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join the Product Documentation team. The successful candidate will support the company's top-priority objectives and key results.

The role involves creating effective documentation plans for new feature writing projects, starting conversations with stakeholders, and raising issues or suggesting improvements to new features. The Senior Technical Writer will also identify and advocate for medium to large documentation projects, mentor less-senior writers, and independently prioritize high-impact work.

Responsibilities include:

- Creating documentation plans for new feature writing projects

- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure a world-class customer experience

- Raising issues or suggesting improvements to new features

- Identifying and advocating for medium to large documentation projects

- Mentoring less-senior writers

- Independently prioritizing high-impact work

- Troubleshooting issue requests and helping less-senior writers

- Providing editorial and technical feedback on peer work

Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years of experience writing technical documentation for developer tools

- Solid understanding of version control and single-sourcing content

- Experience managing documentation systems

- Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and carry out complex writing projects

- Ability to compassionately give and receive editorial and technical feedback

- Clear and concise communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience with dbt or data

- Previous experience as a senior member of a formal documentation team

- Experience working asynchronously as part of a fully-remote, distributed team

- Contribution to or maintenance of an open-source project
