Figma is growing our team of creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all.

We're looking for technically-minded product designers who are excited to shape how teams build together.

In this role, you'll turn ambiguity into clarity, push the product forward with engineers, PMs, and researchers, and help us invent new ways for people to design and build products together.

The Core Experience team shapes how people create in Figma,from foundational tools like Auto Layout and Text to the interactions that make working on the canvas feel intuitive and precise.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the design of core editor experiences, including foundational concepts like Auto Layout, Text, and canvas interactions

- Help us define and champion a clear vision for how the editor should evolve

- Explore how direct manipulation, AI, and code can work together

- Ground decisions in user research, product data, and close observation of how people create

- Contribute to our design org's culture by participating in design critiques, mentoring peers, and sharing best practices across teams

Requirements:

- 8+ years of experience in product design, including leading complex software projects

- A portfolio of shipped work demonstrating interaction design and visual craft

- The ability to guide decision-making with structured thinking and user-centered research

- Experience researching, prototyping, or building products with AI and other emerging tools

Nice to Have:

- Experience designing creative tools, editors, canvas interfaces, or other products with rich, direct manipulation interactions

- A design/development hybrid background, or experience building websites or apps

- Experience with code-based prototyping, front-end development, or workflows that connect design and implementation
