As a key on-site leader on the facilities operations team, you will bring technical credibility, engineering expertise, and steady project leadership to fast-paced, high-impact work in live, technically advanced facilities. ## Responsibilities: - Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders as the facilities operations project representative for the Southaven and Memphis sites. - Oversee end-to-end execution of facilities operations projects, from scoping and planning through installation, commissioning, and handover into day-to-day operations. - Develop, plan, and execute site improvement, retrofit, and activation projects in accordance with overall business objectives and strategy. - Coordinate multiple vendors and trade partners, ensuring seamless communication between field teams, facilities supervisors, technicians, engineering disciplines, and technical stakeholders. - Proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure high-quality delivery, safety, schedule adherence, and operational readiness on a live campus. - Drive project progress, resolving roadblocks and keeping complex, multi-phase timelines on track while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations. - Create and align facilities project schedules and deliverables with SpaceXAI's broader infrastructure and AI supercomputing goals through cross-functional collaboration. - Partner with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to take work from build into operations and to resolve technical issues efficiently. - Deliver regular updates using well-designed KPIs, dashboards, and reports for internal and external stakeholders. - Perform quantity take-offs, field verifications, and progress monitoring to support accurate forecasting and reporting. - Manage change orders, identifying value-engineered solutions to minimize unnecessary changes and control costs. - Manage vendor and contractor finances; work with SpaceXAI buyers and accounts payable to assure accounts are maintained. - Lead site safety initiatives on facilities project work, knowing and applying SpaceXAI safety procedures. - Understand mechanical and facilities equipment such as chilled water systems, boilers, VFDs, pumps, PLCs, condensers, split systems, air compressors, dust collectors, backflow preventers, and related systems. - Adapt to evolving needs, supporting cross-functional partners as required. ## Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree - 5+ years of experience managing facilities operations or infrastructure projects. ## Preferred Skills and Experience: - Demonstrated success leading on-site project teams with authority and building trust with vendors, partners, and technical stakeholders. - Experience managing programs involving multiple vendors, dynamic priorities, and complex coordination in an operating facility. - Previous experience in data center, hyperscale, or industrial facilities operations. - Knowledge of building management and automated facilities monitoring systems and processes. - Experience with commissioning, MEP systems, or site development for technical facilities. - Experience managing budgets and third-party vendors; experience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum value. - Experience with asset management / CMMS software and construction or project management tools. - Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. - Ability to work independently with little direction, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and anticipate needs with innovative solutions. ## Additional Requirements: - Based at the Memphis / Southaven sites. - Position is subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing. - Comfortable working in an environment requiring exposure to noise, operating equipment, and construction or maintenance activity. - Available to work evenings and weekends, as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required. - Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support for emergencies and critical facility issues as assigned. - Ability to lift 25+ pounds. ## Skills ### Required - project management - facilities operations - engineering - vendor management - risk mitigation - budget management - safety procedures ### Nice to have - data center operations - commissioning - MEP systems - site development - asset management - construction management - Microsoft Office --- Source: [Apply at job-boards.greenhouse.io](https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/xai/jobs/5249882007?utm_source=yubhub.co&utm_medium=jobs_feed&utm_campaign=apply)
