## Description

WSP are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Assistant Road Engineer to join the Roads team based in Scotland. The team delivers highway consultancy services to support clients through all stages of the project life-cycle from feasibility and concept design through to planning, detailed design, and construction.

The successful candidate will work on the Performance Audit Group (PAG), an independent private sector organisation employed by Transport Scotland to monitor the performance of Operating Companies. Key tasks include:

- Providing assistance for inspections, auditing, and monitoring asset inventory collection and updating for a roads network

- Assessing the effectiveness and contractual compliance of Suppliers

- Issuing notices based on site inspections and observations

- Verifying Suppliers' records and confirming works have been carried out according to Specifications and contract documentation

- Verifying quantities and values claimed by Suppliers

- Contributing to reports required by the Employer

The ideal candidate will have:

- HNC/HND and limited experience, or basic experience with structured training

- Experience inspecting, monitoring, and reporting on Supplier compliance with contracts, specifications, and good practice associated with road construction, management, and maintenance

- Basic knowledge of maintenance and construction works associated with road networks
