## Description

This role owns the software Credit Production Engineering runs on, delivering complete solutions across all phases of the SDLC for CPE's internal platforms. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree, and will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and deploying software solutions.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

- Guide junior engineers and provide technical guidance

- Operate with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices

- Apply knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions

- Own CPE's tooling codebases as products, applying and upholding code review, testing, and release practices

- Design, build, and operate new services that reduce the team's toil on repetitive and manual work

- Partner with engineering teams outside CPE to obtain the service topology and dependency knowledge CPE's tooling depends on

Requirements:

- 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree

- Working fluency in Shell scripting, Python, and TypeScript

- Depth in databases: schema design, migrations, roles and grants, indexing and query performance

- Production experience with cloud infrastructure, including deployment and observability

- Operational credibility with on-call engineers

Preferred Qualifications:

- Demonstrated ownership of a production codebase

- Experience with PostgreSQL, pgvector, or another vector store

- Retrieval systems or LLM tooling

- Managed Postgres at scale

- Alerting and monitoring platforms

- Event correlation, anomaly detection, or time-series analysis
