## Description

WSP is seeking an Early Career Substation Structural Engineer to join their Mountain Civil/Structural Substation Team in Billings, MT.

As an Early Career Substation Structural Engineer, you will be involved in projects and provide local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of building and infrastructure projects in the public and private sector.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from physical work sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.

- Perform basic professional structural engineering work relating to conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions.

- Provide entry-level technical assistance on various design requirements and operating strategies to ensure safety and functionality.

- Assist with verifying site characteristics and providing basic technical assistance on securing structural soundness.

- Generate accurate and concise documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and work site notebooks.

- Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

- 0 to 1 year of relevant post-education experience.

- Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.

- Familiarity with design/build processes and concepts.

- Competent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.

- Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation software.

- Familiarity with discipline-specific design software.
