## Description

As part of the M&S Software Engineering team, you'll be joining a well-loved historic brand, working on solutions that serve millions of loyal customers and thousands of colleagues.

This role sits within the Warehouse Continuity team, supporting the Fashion, Home & Beauty (FH&B) Supply Chain & Logistics sub-domain, which is central to M&S's ambitious growth plans.

Your key accountabilities will include:

- Developing, testing, and supporting high-quality software solutions, championing engineering best practices and driving continuous improvement across the team.

- Leading the design and implementation of scalable applications and third-party integrations, partnering closely with Architecture and technology stakeholders.

- Conducting code reviews to maintain high engineering standards, ensuring solutions are secure, maintainable, well-tested, and performant.

- Collaborating with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions that meet business needs.

- Mentoring and supporting engineers while driving operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, incident management, and continuous service improvement.

Your skills and experience will include:

- A proven track record in full-stack engineering, developing robust, scalable front-end and back-end solutions and integrations within complex enterprise environments.

- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, automated testing practices, and DevSecOps, with experience working across modern CI/CD pipelines.

- Technical proficiency in Java, SQL, JavaScript, and related engineering tools, with experience designing and delivering secure cloud-based applications.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

- Experience mentoring engineers and applying AI/ML and GenAI technologies, including tools such as Copilot, to enhance software development processes and outcomes.

- Languages & Frameworks: PL/SQL, Java (Spring Boot), .NET, Angular, Angular JS, React, TypeScript, Playwright, Cucumber, JMeter, Python, AI/ML

- Cloud & Infrastructure: Azure IAAS and PAAS services and apps, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform

- Data & Messaging: Kafka (Confluent), IBM MQ/MQFTE, SFTP

- Databases: Oracle and SQL Server on Azure

- API & Integration: Apigee, REST APIs, Windows Services

- Observability: Dynatrace, Pagerduty, Helix

- CI/CD & Quality: GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Semgrep, Snyk, Prisma, Github Advanced Security, Qualys

- Analytics: Power BI
