## Description

As a Supermarket Assistant Branch Cook at Waitrose & Partners in Bishop's Stortford, you will work in the back-of-house kitchen of our Partner Dining Room, preparing hot and cold food for Partners during their breaks. You will also support the shop floor team as a Supermarket Assistant, providing excellent customer service and maintaining a high level of food presentation.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen with support from the management team

- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe kitchen environment

- Controlling food portions, preparation, and storage to minimize waste

- Adhering to high food hygiene standards

- Providing stock replenishment and ensuring shelves are fully stocked

- Fulfilling online customer orders and supporting the shop team with various tasks

The role requires:

- Experience as a cook in a catering or hospitality environment

- A passion for food and serving a varied and nutritious menu

- Customer-focused approach with the ability to engage with Partners

- Commercial awareness to drive sales and control costs

- Flexibility to work between the kitchen and shop floor as needed

Desirable skills and experience include:

- City & Guilds 706 1 and 2 or NVQ equivalent

- Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2

In addition to your contractual pay of £14.31 per hour, you will receive a Night Premium of £3.75 per hour for any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00.

The role is temporary, working varied hours of full-time work (37.5 hours) across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings, and weekends.
