The Okta Agentic Services Team pioneers robust infrastructure using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect AI models with Okta's core capabilities. They also contribute to Open Source SDKs, simplifying Okta integration into AI-driven workflows.

In This Role, You Will:

- Design and develop AI-enabled tools for Okta customers to utilise AI agents, leveraging MCP.

- Build, maintain, and contribute to Open Source SDKs for easy Okta integration into AI-driven applications.

- Develop highly available, scalable services and applications with clear designs, APIs, and data models.

- Own end-to-end technical solutions, ensuring code quality, observability, security, and operational readiness.

- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

- Lead code and design reviews, drive best practices, and mentor engineers.

- Diagnose complex issues, improve reliability and performance, and enhance CI/CD pipelines.

- Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions, applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products.

Culture, Mentorship & Best Practices:

- Champion sustainable engineering practices and set standards for code quality, documentation, and testing.

- Serve as a trusted mentor and technical advisor to junior engineers and peer leaders.

- Act as a role model for judgment and responsibility, guiding engineers on planning and delivering high-leverage solutions.

Experience and Qualifications:

- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.

- 4+ years of experience with backend and distributed systems.

- Deep expertise in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and SQL/NoSQL databases.

- Experience designing and evolving multi-service system architectures, APIs, and data models.

- Demonstrated success in improving system performance, reliability, and scalability.

- Experience with engineering excellence initiatives, such as test automation and CI/CD improvements.

- Hands-on experience with AI/ML-enabled capabilities and AI-driven developer productivity tools.
