## Description

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Developer Experience team. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building world-class developer infrastructure that empowers every Databricks engineer to do their best work, every day.

Key responsibilities include:

- Building developer infrastructure that directly empowers every Databricks engineer to do their best work, every day.

- Dramatically boosting the reliability, speed, and efficiency of our largest builds, creating a blazing-fast dev loop and making Bazel a breeze to use.

- Creating seamless, out-of-the-box development environments and IDE integrations, allowing engineers to dive into coding and debugging instantly, across all major languages (Scala, Rust, Go, Python, etc).

- Leading pivotal cross-functional projects, influencing key architectural decisions, and mentoring colleagues to cultivate a culture of innovation and operational excellence.

Requirements include:

- Strong passion for improving developer workflows, productivity, and infrastructure.

- In-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle and challenges faced by developers operating at scale.

- Experience with building and managing internal developer tools, CI/CD systems, or related infrastructure.

- Ability to think long-term while delivering incremental, measurable impact.

- Coding chops, clean, elegant, bug-free code in languages like Scala, Rust, Java, Python, Go.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fast-paced software engineering organizations.

- BS (or higher) in Computer Science, or a related field.
