## Description

Priory Hospital Barnt Green has an exciting opportunity for a Speciality Doctor to join our team, working 3 days per week to provide medical support across our wards.

Priory Hospital Barnt Green, located in Barnt Green, Birmingham, is a purpose-built hospital offering mental health services for adults and young people, including specialist therapy, psychiatry, and private autism assessments. The hospital is accessible by public transport, with Barnt Green railway station approximately 1–2 miles away, and local bus routes serving the surrounding area. Due to its semi-rural location, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

As a Speciality Doctor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality psychiatric and physical healthcare to patients. Working alongside Consultant Psychiatrists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, and ongoing medical support, helping patients move towards recovery in a safe and supportive environment.

### Key Responsibilities

- Provide psychiatric and medical care to adult inpatients, working closely with Consultant Psychiatrists and the wider multidisciplinary team.

- Complete assessments, medical clerking, risk assessments, physical health reviews, and appropriate admission investigations.

- Prescribe, review, and reconcile psychiatric and physical health medication in line with Priory policies and clinical standards.

- Contribute to ward rounds, MDT reviews, CPA meetings, and ongoing risk management, providing clinical advice and support to colleagues.

- Liaise with GPs, acute hospitals, specialists, and community teams to ensure patients receive appropriate and coordinated physical and mental healthcare.

### Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

- Experience of working in Psychiatry is essential.

- S12 approval/MRCPsych is desirable.
