## Description

We are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Surgery Center team. As a member of Team Rehabilitation's Surgery Center team, you will play a critical role in the patient's journey toward recovery and independence. Your primary focus will be providing hands-on mobility assistance and essential education to patients and their support systems to ensure a safe transition from surgery center to home.

**Responsibilities:**

- Work alongside nursing staff to help patients recover after total joint replacement surgery

- Instruct patients and caregivers on prescribed exercises and physician protocols

- Provide guidance on effective pain management techniques and recovery expectations

- Train patients on the proper use and maintenance of DME, including immobilizers, SCD pumps, walkers, and gait belts

- Provide gait training education to improve the patient's walking pattern and stability

- Physically assist and supervise patients as they navigate stairs

- Demonstrate and assist with safe transfer techniques

- Provide direct physical assistance during the discharge process

**Qualifications:**

- Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant

- Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license (or eligibility to obtain)
