## Description

We are seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide day-to-day teaching coverage for the 26-27 school year at High Tech High International in Point Loma, California.

As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for preparing lesson plans, educating students, assigning homework, grading tests, and documenting progress under the supervision of the School Director.

Key responsibilities include:

- Creating daily lesson plans with project-based assignments that engage students

- Planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences

- Incorporating goals, competencies, and objectives into lesson plans that apply to students' lives

- Achieving school and course-wide performance goals for every student in class

- Grading assignments and homework regularly to keep students updated on their progress

- Identifying students who are struggling and finding them the resources they need

The ideal candidate will possess:

- Ability to efficiently manage time and work with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Exceptional administrative and organization skills

- Proficient knowledge of teaching strategies and methods

- Critical thinking skills

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree

- A valid California K-12 teaching credential, which may include a 30-day Substitute Permit or a Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave (TPSL)

This is an hourly position paid at $23.46/hour, with no benefits, but may be contracted depending on the length of the assignment.
