## Description

As the Head of Power Unit Controls Development at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, Germany, you will lead the Controls department responsible for Standard ECU (SECU) software development, virtual validation, Hardware-in-the-Loop systems, and Systems/Data Processing for the Audi Formula 1 Power Unit.

Your mission includes leading and developing the Power Unit Controls organization, building and motivating a high-performing interdisciplinary team, defining and executing the Power Unit Controls technology roadmap, ensuring efficient delivery of software and validation activities, and driving cross-functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead and develop the Power Unit Controls organization

- Build, coach, and inspire a highly qualified team of engineers

- Define and execute the Power Unit Controls technology roadmap

- Ensure efficient delivery of software and validation activities

- Drive cross-functional collaboration with various groups

- Establish robust development, validation, and release processes

- Lead strategic decisions regarding software architecture and validation tools

- Ensure effective utilization of virtual development platforms and digital-twin environments

- Define and execute the strategy for engineering data acquisition and measurement systems

- Oversee data acquisition solutions for Power Unit components

- Support performance optimization and reliability investigations

- Contribute to technical risk assessment and mitigation strategies

- Provide engineering support to Mission Control and race event activities

- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

- Studies in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Control Engineering, or a comparable discipline

- Leadership experience in high-performance motorsports engineering organizations

- Proven track record in control systems, embedded software development, and simulation environments

- Experience with combustion engine software and high-performance engines

- Understanding of modern hybrid powertrains and electrified propulsion systems

- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink-based development environments

- Excellent understanding of embedded control systems and vehicle integration processes

- Experience managing complex technical projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

- Ability to translate strategic objectives into operational execution

- High level of ownership, resilience, and decision-making capability

- Demonstrated ability to develop talent and build high-performing teams

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

- Excellent English communication skills; German is beneficial but not mandatory
