## Description

The Data Distribution & Analytics team at Mastercard is looking for a Principal Data Engineer to build an API interface to access transaction datasets residing in a data warehouse. You will create high-performance API solutions and be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and delivery of software solutions.

Responsibilities:

- Design and build technical roadmaps and guide the development staff on adoption

- Lead day-to-day system development and maintenance activities to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and create solutions with a high level of innovation, cost-effectiveness, high quality, and faster time to market

- Investigate and troubleshoot customer-reported issues and propose solutions that meet customer requirements along with architectural and business requirements

- Conduct technical interviews for hiring engineering staff and coach other technical resources

- Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a global environment

Requirements:

- Proficient in architecture, design, and implementation of microservices and distributed, scalable systems

- Expert programming skills in Java and micro-service development

- Expertise with Spring Cloud, Spring Boot, Tomcat

- Skilled in working with both SQL and NoSQL persistence technologies, e.g., Postgress, Oracle, MongoDB

- Experience with Spark/Hadoop ecosystem

- Proficiency in software development test approaches & frameworks: ATDD/BDD, Unit tests, Cucumber, Spock

- Expertise working with cloud hosting technologies such as PCF, Azure

- Command of CI/CD principles and tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Chef

- Expertise in identifying performance bottlenecks and coming up with novel ways to solve them

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

- Leadership, initiative, and willingness to take on challenging opportunities

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
