## Description

Ford's Research and Advanced Engineering team develops advanced energy management and propulsion technologies, creates cutting-edge materials and manufacturing processes, and curates world-class cabin experiences. As a Software Developer, you will design cloud platforms and microservices that power connected vehicles and over-the-air (OTA) software delivery.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and resilient backend services using Java (Java 8/11/17+) and the Spring Boot ecosystem.

- Build responsive, intuitive, and user-friendly web interfaces using Angular and React.

- Architect, develop, and integrate robust RESTful APIs and microservices designed for high availability and low latency.

- Implement complex business logic, performant data models, and optimized database schemas in PostgreSQL.

- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

- Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

- CI/CD Automation: Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using modern tools.

- Package and manage applications using Docker and orchestrate them at scale using Kubernetes (GKE).

- Automate environment provisioning and configuration management using Terraform or GCP Cloud Deployment Manager.

- Configure proactive logging, tracing, and alerting solutions using Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver), Prometheus, or Grafana.

- Act as a technical guide and mentor for junior and mid-level developers.

- Partner closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and architects to translate business goals into high-performing technical implementations.

- Actively participate in and lead Agile ceremonies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

- 6+ years of professional software development experience with Java (Java 8/11/17+).

- 6+ years of deep, hands-on experience with the Spring ecosystem.

- 6+ years of experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.

- 6+ years of strong proficiency with PostgreSQL.
