## Job Overview

We are seeking a Basketball Coach to join our team at Zeta, a network of schools across the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens. As a Basketball Coach, you will deliver exceptional basketball instruction to Middle School students, developing their athletic skills, teamwork, confidence, and lifelong love of the game.

## Responsibilities

In the Basketball Coach role, you will:

- Design and deliver exceptional, skill-based instruction that develops students' athletic ability, basketball fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence.

- Build a joyful, inclusive, and rigorous learning environment that inspires discipline, sportsmanship, a genuine love of the game, and a strong sense of belonging.

- Drive ambitious student and program outcomes, maintaining 100% enrollment across clubs and teams, successfully completing all required Specialty events, and using data and student work to monitor progress, refine instruction, accelerate student growth, and ensure 80%+ of students pass unit assessments.

- Lead a high-quality, competitive after-school basketball program, developing team strategy, preparing student-athletes for games and tournaments, and building the skills, discipline, and team culture needed to compete successfully.

- Build authentic, meaningful relationships with students and families to support each student's growth and success.

- Collaborate closely with leaders and colleagues and participate in weekly professional development, applying feedback to continually strengthen your instruction.

- Contribute actively to whole-school priorities and initiatives, providing instructional and community support wherever needed.

## Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should:

- Possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably in physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, or a related field.

- Have experience working in basketball through coaching, after-school or community programming, camps, clinics, or leagues.

- Have full-time experience teaching or coaching basketball in an elementary, middle, or high school setting, which is strongly preferred.

- Have demonstrated experience coaching competitive basketball teams, with a track record of preparing athletes for games and tournaments, developing team strategy, and building strong team culture.

- Possess deep knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and player development, with the ability to translate your expertise into rigorous, accessible, and engaging instruction.

- Be passionate about developing students' athletic skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and discipline, paired with high expectations for every student's growth.
