## Description

Launch your law enforcement career with Utah County Government as a Deputy Sheriff - Corrections. No experience required; you'll be paid while attending training and sponsored through the Utah POST Academy to obtain your Basic Corrections Officer Certification.

**Job Details:**

- Location: Utah County Security Center

- Employment Type: Full-time

- Starting Pay: $29.95/hour (Deputy Sheriff I - Corrections), $31.35-$36.06/hour (Deputy Sheriff II - Corrections)

**Responsibilities:**

- Help maintain the safety and security of the Utah County Security Center

- Duties include inmate booking, housing, transportation, supervision, and inmate work programs

**Requirements:**

- High school diploma or equivalent

- At least 19 years old to attend POST Academy

- Valid driver's license (Utah license required within 60 days of hire)

- Pass background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, medical exam, and drug screening

- Become POST certified within 12 months of hire

**Testing and Interview Process:**

- Apply online

- Wait for the next testing session (tentatively planned for the first week of November)

- Complete both written/video exam and physical fitness test

- In-person interview with the hiring panel (for those who pass both tests)

**Physical Fitness Test:**

- 1.5-mile run in 17 minutes or less

- 30-second plank

- 10 push-ups without rest
