## Description

As a Data Scientist at Capital One, you'll be part of a team leading the next wave of disruption, using the latest computing and machine learning technologies across billions of customer records.

**Responsibilities:**

- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-loved products

- Leverage technologies like Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark to reveal insights in large datasets

- Build machine learning models through development phases

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

**The Ideal Candidate:**

- Is customer-focused and passionate about doing the right thing

- Continuously researches emerging technologies and stays current on state-of-the-art methods

- Is technical, with experience in open-source languages and cloud computing platforms

- Is a data guru, skilled in retrieving, combining, and analyzing data from various sources

**Basic Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science) plus 5 years of data analytics experience

- Master's Degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 3 years of data analytics experience

- PhD in a quantitative field

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Master's Degree in STEM field plus 3 years of data analytics experience

- PhD in STEM field

- Experience in Python, Scala, R, machine learning, SQL, and AWS

**Salary Information:**

- McLean, VA: $161,800 - $184,600

- New York, NY: $176,500 - $201,400

- San Jose, CA: $176,500 - $201,400
